Social Media: You're Doing It Wrong
October 21, 2012
I thought I'd write a quick little post about social media since the conversation came up the other day.
A client was telling me how much she hates to enter, in this case photos, on all her social media channels and her website. That's when I told her she was doing it wrong.
Your website is where your message is most successful. On your website their isn't any other social noise to distract your visitors. So the goal is to bring them to that peaceful singular place.
Instead of posting all the photos from a recent event to your social media channels, post one good attention grabbing one. then link to that photo gallery on your website. It will encourage people to visit your site and perhaps even stickaround to read an article or purchase a product.
I used photos as the example here but you could use it for almost anything. If you have a new product, link to the page where your Social media followers can purchase it. Got a video? Post a screen shot and link that to the video on your website.
